080926_ As finalists of the CURRY STONE DESIGN prize, we have been rewarded of 10.000 USD. First prize went to MMA Architects, South Africa. Congratulations to them and to the other three finalists: Shawn Frayne, Wes Janz, Marjetica Potrc.

080925_ The recipient of the Curry Stone Design Prize will be announced on September 25, 2008 at the IdeaFestival in Louisville, Kentucky. Since 2000, the IdeaFestival has attracted leading and highly diverse thinkers from around the world to showcase and discuss important ideas in science, the arts, design, business, film, technology, education, and other disciplines, to promote breakthrough thinking.

In addition to the presentation of the prize, Venice Biennale curator Emiliano Gandolfi will moderate a discussion about design's steadily increasing reach into contemporary life. We will be there for the discussion together with the other four finalists of the Curry Stone Design Prize.

080826 _ Antonio Scarponi has been nominated as one of the five finalists of the CURRY STONE DESIGN PRIZE a New International Design Award for Humanitarian Innovations.

The Curry Stone Design Prize is awarded every year to breakthrough design solutions with the power and potential to improve our lives and the world. The Curry Stone Design Prize recognizes exceptional, emerging design innovations that contribute to the vitality of the world community. These designs may improve the human spirit, increase awareness of the environment, or respond to areas of need in the world, whether to provide shelter and clean water or address climate change and humanitarian crises.

The winner receives an award of $100,000. Up to four other finalists receive $10,000 each. The annual international prize, which comes with no strings attached, recognizes exceptional designers based on the merit of their ideas and the potential to bringing their ideas to fruition. The Curry Stone Design Prize purposely defines design in the broadest possible sense – encompassing architecture, urban planning, product, landscape, graphic, interior, and industrial design – and invites new definitions that defy tradition and break boundaries.

All the finalists will be officially unveiled on Sept. 13, 2008 at the 11th International Venice Architecture Biennale. Press event is scheduled at 10:30am - at the Circolo Ufficiali Marina Militare, next to the entrance to the Arsenale.

080711 _ RIKEA project was invited at Fama_Fame / Fame_Hunger: an In Progress Project which advances in situ by each exhibition.

The concept "to become famous" focuses the ambition of the artist to be accepted in the art system and, at the same time, the need to survive in everyday life. It represents symbolically all relations between life, love and success, money and the actually basic need of the human being.

The project Fama_Fame / Fame_Hunger lives on the hospitality of the local cultural and political institutions, trough the European territory, and is attended by the residents artists and by an international network. All the artists works without being charged and the exhibition, of course, is for free.

Solothurn 2008: after the first step at la Fabbrica di Losone (Ticino - Switzerland) with Roberto De Luca, Daniele Pario Perra and Giancarlo Norese coordinated by Riccardo Lisi, the second step of the exhibition is taking place in Solothurn with 27 artists from Switzerland and abroad, and the third step will be in Rotterdam 2009 togheter with local artists and networks as in all the edition.

The catalogue will be presented on the occasion of the Finissage.
