The Hub Zurich Co-Working Space for Social Innovators: Construction Started.

As we are facing multiple crises in the global economic, social and ecological spheres, innovative solutions are needed to tackle the many challenges at hand. The Hub is designed to facilitate these solutions by creating a global network of collaborative spaces where entrepreneurs and social innovators come together to realize their ideas for a sustainable society. Already present in 22 cities and over 60 emerging around the world, The Hub provides flexible work, meeting and event space to create a habitat for social innovation.
People from every profession, background and culture are being united by one thing – the imagination and drive to pursue enterprising ideas for a ‘radically better world’. These are the people who see and do things differently, driven by their entrepreneurial passion to create true value. The Hub is becoming the place they call home. An enabling space for social innovation. The place where change goes to work.

The Hub Zürich is centrally located in two arches of the beautiful “IM VIADUKT“ for an overall surface of 400 square meters. Having two separate arches allows for two distinct Hub environments: a flexible work space where things gets done in a focused atmosphere and a buzzing interaction space where people can meet, learn and connect. The interior space is resolved through two different spacial devices that organize the program accordingly: a wall unit that connect two different areas of the working space and a grandstand for informal meeting and public presentation that question the space as an interior landscape within the arches’ volts. The Hub Zurich will start the construction this week. Basic service should be available by the end of September. Grand opening by the beginning of 2011.
